Summer Experiences '11

This summer was a whirlwind. There were so many awesome opportunities to serve God and work with college students. I was really blessed by nearly 40 college students from the Long Beach area and across the nation who were in Long Beach as part of Campus Crusade and Hope for Long Beach. They were deployed by God to love on the city and share God's good news. They came along side the after-school program that I work with, loving on children, sharing the gospel message, working on projects that made possible improvements in the program being offered to children and youth. My summer drew to a close with a mission trip to Chicago serving in various mission arenas there, and a vacation to the southwest (a 20th wedding anniversary trip). It was a summer that reminded me once again of the incredible power of God working through people who have a heart for the Lord.
