Summer Experiences '09

This summer was a whirlwind. I was fortunate enough to spend 8 days in New York at a retreat center near Niagara Falls. I didn't see the falls, but spent alot of time at a lake which was wonderful! It was a great time to get centered and spend time with God. I worked alot with children and youth throughout the summer, as well... One highlight was working with a team to cater 3 meals for nearly 100 people (one of them a banquet meal) in 36 hours. I NOW KNOW I NEVER wish to have my own restaurant -- so much for the Iron Chef dreams! I went on a 21 person mission team to Lamoille, Nevada. The people were wonderful, the scenery was incredible, and our work really made it possible for the church to better minister in the area. While there, we spent a lot of time working on a picket fence - I now understand Tom Sawyer's displeasure with working on a fence for his aunt! -- Adele : )
